Summary: | As the population of Greystones increased rapidly, following the coming of the railway, a new church was needed. The La Touche family donated some land and St. Patrick's Church of Ireland was built by private subscription in 1857. It was consecrated in 1864. In its early years it was in the care of the Rector of Delgany, as there were too few parishioners to support their own rector. It was extended three times - in 1875, 1888 and 1898. |
