Summary:Cuireadh tús le briogáid dóitean Scoil Mhuire go h-oifigiúl ar an céad lá de Mhárta 1984. Roimhe sin brí cúrsa oiliúna ag an briogáid ar feadh bliain amháin. B'e an T'uas. MacCharthaigh A.C.F.O. as Beanntraí a bhí i mbun traenála. Fire Chief, Proinnsias Lainin, and his crew at practice to keep the many fire fighting techniques perfected insuring the safety of the Mizen Peninsula population. Schull Fire Service was inaugurated on March 1st 1984 following a one year training period for the ten personnel. Training Officer was Mr. Hugh McCarthy A.C.F.O., Bantry. The Fire Station was built 1981/82.
