| Summary: | Schull fishing fleet consists of twelve 60-70 foot trawlers with refrigerated holds and sixteen 20 foot punts employing about 60. Ocean Breeze, Breda Helen, Mulroy Bay, Boy Peter, Ina McBand, Shiela Do, IIlan Glass, Silver Bell, Mary Margaret and Ard Casts fish white fish, megsrims, hake and herrings; punts fish crab and shrimp.. The new pier, completed in 1987, extended the pier 120 feet providing 400 feet all-year berthing in 13-14 feet low water with ice plant, power points and fork-lift facilities at a cost of £8.000. Marketing is at Union Hall and Castletown Bere Co-ops. |
