Summary:Holy Rosary Church: Architect J. J. O' Shea, foundation stone laid 4th July, 1896, consecrated 9th November, 1898 by Dr. Henry Bishop of Down and Connor and builders H.&J. Martin. The church was built from Scrabo Sandstone with Dumfries dressings. A spire was intended for the Church but was not erected. The church was built while Robert Cricard was parish priest. Many of Father Cricard's Protestant friends contributed to the building fund and were invited to take up the collection at the consecration. According to the Golden Jubliee booklet, the majority of collectors that day were Protestant. The church has proved too small for the congregation, which has moved across the road to the chapel of the Good Shepherd Convent, and has been sold. It will be used as an exhibition centre.
