Summary:This park is now a showpiece. It was something of a wasteland until it was taken over and developed by Birr Urban District Council which raised it and made it into the lovely park it is today. The park gets its name from the Cam Cor river flowing at the edge of the park. The name Cam Cor means crooked weir, and the river looks really picturesque at the parts where it is overhung by some fine pink flowering chestnut trees. Its many plants and shrubs provide a lovely background to the elaborate vintage dress in which ladies and gents bespart themselves each year in August for the Annual Vintage Festival.
