Summary: | The photo that I took of Ballindrait were taken from the top of Croaghan Hill, Co. Donegal. I do not know much detail will come out as there was a bit of haze at the time. Ballin drait (Baile an Droicheaid-the town on the bridge) lies about half-way on the road between Lifford and Raphoe. It has a lot of history behind it. Here Rory O'Donnell, Chief of Tirconnaill and O'Neill, Earl of Tyrone, met to go on to join other noblemen of Ulster in the Flight of the Earls on September 14th 1607. |
