Summary:Card designed for the Cuala Press by the artist Lady Beatrice Glenavy, with her initials (lower right) within plate. This card features an image of a man with two women hand in hand, joyously dancing and singing to the music provided by a man seated playing an accordion at the right of the scene while an elderly woman views the group at the extreme left of the scene; a small child at centre of the scene shows his delight while a toddler behind him is seen from the back. A female figure dominates the scene [an angel?], garlanded with flowers, with a cornucopia in front of her. In the right background figures are depicted coming in from the rain outside to join the happy group of people celebrating. Beneath this scene is printed a short verse by William Monk Gibbon that reads - "Now we'll forget the windy hill, / The heavy roads, the blinding rain, / Now we will wish an enemy / A pact with joy, a truce to pain. To each a roof, to each a fire, / To each a comrade to his mind; / To little children sudden joy, / To birds a shelter from the wind". Message printed inside card reads: "Best wishes for a Merry Christmas / and a Happy New Year / Homer and Mary Reed".
