| Notes: | NLI copy at call number LO 14058 is the third English edition [1921] of 'A portrait of the artist as a young man.' The first printing was 1916 by Huebsch. This was followed by a 1917 Egoist Press edition which used imported sheets from Huebsch (Harriet Shaw Weaver estimated that less than 750 copies were imported). The Egoist Press printed an edition of 1000 copies in 1918, which is the first edition to actually be printed in England. The present book is from an edition of 1000 additional sets of sheets imported from Huebsch. When the Egoist inventory was sold to Jonathan Cape in 1924 there were 130 copies of this edition still remaining unsold, making the 1921 Egoist edition only 870 copies.
