Summary: | 1 autograph volume containing the single poem 'The Fall of Napoleon: an irregular poem in three cantos', written by Standish James O'Grady (Chief Baron) in December 1815 and January 1816. The volume also contains a handwritten copy of two letters between O'Grady and the Marquis of Wellesley, both dated July 8th 1826. The first is from Wellesely (Richard Colley Wellesley, Marquess, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland) to O'Grady, in which Wellesley passes on his and his wife's critiques of O'Grady's poem and refers to returning the manuscript to O'Grady. O'Grady's reply thanks Wellesley for his critique and espresses his regret at not meeting the Marquis in person due to Wellesley's temporary indisposition. O'Grady also sends his regrets for not attending Council due to a trip to Co. Limerick.
