Summary: | Sarah Howard's letters to her daughters relate to family matters, social engagements and her travels in England. Letters are written from Windmill, Co. Kildare, Swords and Harrogate and are mostly undated; with some attached envelopes. Some are fragmentary and incomplete. Also included are letters to Louisa Howard, from her father the Hon. Rev. Francis Howard, written in her childhood. Lady Louisa and Alice Howard, writing for the most part from Mount Street, [London], refer to the family visits and social engagements, including an event hosted by Lady Aberdeen which was thought to have political overtones and a visit from their sister in law Fanny Howard and nephew Ralph (b. 1877). |
