Notes: | This item is held in the Ephemera Department. The Shannon hydro-electric scheme at Ardnacrusha was a major project undertaken by the new Irish Free State. Built under the leadership of the German firm Siemens-Schuchertwerke, works commenced in 1925 after the passing of the Shannon Electricity Act, 1925.
