The [Irish] Parliamentary Party have been sitting in the English Parliament since 1881. In 1881 the people of Ireland were taxed £1 8s. 2d. per head. Now (1917) the people of Ireland are taxed by the English Parliament £5 6s. 1d. per head and the Parliamentary Party have helped to vote that taxation. A vote for [Patrick] Lynch is a vote to help those who tax you".
