Notes: | Shemus was a pseudonym used by Ernest Forbes. Caption reads: Lloyd George: "You can call it co-operation if you like since you prefer long words. The main thing is that you sign." [Sir George Younger, the chief Tory "boss," officially announced on Saturday that the Tory headquarters would assent to any arrangement made by the local Conservative associations with the object of obviating a conflict between the party's candidate and the "National Liberals."] Unpublished caption is handwritten above image and reads: Lloyd George: "If you want another word for it, call it co-operation!
