Summary:This little road which is now a cul-de-sac, giving rear entrance to the Bower Convent, was once the main coach road from Athlone to Dublin, via Mullingar. In the distance can be seen the spire of St. Mary's R.C. Church standing on an eminence known as Scotch Parace and anciently as Gallows Hill.
