Summary: | All over Ireland to-day, there is a Set-Dancing Revival taking place - the Mizen Peninsula is no exception. From Goleen to Schull to Ballydehob, set-dancing is becoming an increasingly popular social activity. It is an interest in which a cross-section of people participate and there are no age barriers. In 1992, a young teacher in Schull Community College introduced set-dancing to the students as yet another extra-curricular activity, to the already wide-range on offer. On request, she subsequently set up a night class for adults. This was a most lively and energetic class and fitness levels for all were improved. |
