Summary:The Dublin to Kingstown (Dun Laoghaire ) Railway line was extended to Wicklow in 1855/56 by the Dublin and Wicklow Railway Company. The original terminus was on the Murrough but when the line was then extended to the new ferry port of Rosslare the Mainline Station at Station Road was opened in 1886. Still in use to the present day Wicklow is both a Mainline and commuter station with great numbers using the railway to take them to their daily work and home safely again in the evening.
