Summary:Kill Abbey is the oldest house in South County Dublin.It was erected in 1595 by George Ussher, a Dublin Merchant, to whom was leased the farm of Clonkeen (Kill) by the chapter of Christ Church Cathedral.The Espinasse family lived in Kill Abbey during the 19th. Century.The well- known restauranteur, Louis Jammet, bought the land in 1947.In 1967 McInerney Builders purhased the house and land.The house now,under different owenership is set into 4 apartments.The heavy stacked chimneys are stll a feature of the outside of the house.Inside, the Queen Anne staircase is in good order.
