Summary: | McGarry's boatyard at Ardmore was established at the start of World War 2 when the McGarry family serviced the moorings on the Lough used for flying boats and as practice bombing targets on the Lough. At present the boatyard provides a permanent base for the 'Maid of Antrim', commercial fishing vessels, the Department of Agriculture research boat and a variety of pleasure craft. |
