Summary:This scene shows a vacant lot left derelict in 1973 when a terrorist bomb destroyed the elegant Abercorn Arms Hotel. The hotel previously located at Main Street and was the dropping off point for the stage coach from Derry to Dublin. Since this site was cleared and a link road across lower Main to Railway Road, it is now possible to view Castle Street. A new shopping complex will soon stand on this spot. Hills Chemist is in the process of being dismantled. The shop front is displayed at the Ulster American Folk Park,Omagh.
