Summary:The calm waters of Ballycastle's Old Dock are ideal as a safe training area for young canoeists. Pupils from primary and secondary schools are brought here by minibus from all over the North Eastern Education and Library Board's area. Pupils prefer training in the salt water because of its extra buoyancy. One of the Rathlin ferries is seen tied up at the pier in the background.
