Summary: | The recent extension in Portland stone and tinted glass merges well into Sir Charles Lanyon's Bank of 1851. Beyond it stands Transport House built in 1959, five stories high, faced with green tiles. To the left is the Albert Clock, by W.J. Barre, built by public subscription 1865 - 1869 and now considerably off-plumb. This large open space which gives access to the river Lagan, could, with environmental improvement, be a great asset to the character of the city centre. |
