Summary: | In Cughan's meadow, Tullyglush, near Keady. The main economy of the Keady rural area is agriculture, with beef production the primary factor. Provision of fodder is mainly by enslied grass. The cattle fed either directly at the silage face or are fed in mass stock houses by having the silage cut and blocked and carted from the silo to the feed area. Although wrapped round bale silage is gaining in popularity, the traditional harvester crop and trailer haul to the silo pit is still the predominate method of silage making in the area. |
