| Summary: | AVX Ltd which is now part of the Kyocera Corporation of Japan commenced operations in Coleraine in mid 1978. It is a world leader in the manufacture of the multi-layer ceramic capacitor a component widely used in the electronic field. Capacitors come in a varity of shapes and size depending on their end use which ranges from the domestic television reciver to high tec navigation equipment. the labour force is at present in the region of 650. |
