Summary:In 1958 a group of local people, in conjunction with Snowcream Dairies, Waterford, erected a milk pasturising plant near the town of Moate. It bought milk from neighbouring farmers, pasturised it, bottled it, and distributed it to midland towns. In 1988 the plant was aquired by Kerry Co-Op and its name changed from Snowcream Ltd., Moate, to Dawn Dairies, Moate.
