Summary:Daivd Lloyd George spent his summer holidays in Switzerland in 1920 - this illustration depicts a disgruntled David Lloyd George abseiling down a precipice - Edward Carson can be seen at the top of the image (surveying the scene) while Arthur Balfour attempts to pull Lloyd George back to terra firma. The third reading of the Bill [that became The Government of Ireland Act 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. 5 c. 67)] was approved by a majority on 11 November 1920. The remaining provisions of the Act still in force in Northern Ireland were repealed under the terms of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.
