Summary:	Duggan's letter was delivered by hand to Kavanagh by his friend and former Lewes Prison inmate Gerard Crofts, who Duggan describes as a 'most lovable character'. He informes her that Crofts will be able to give her news of their prison life that could not be communicated in his letters and that he feels certain he will soon be released. He also refers in passing to his work in the prison laundry.
