Summary:The statement, countersigned by John O'Neill and James Smyth, reads: "If I do not live to reach Ireland, I want you to tell the people in Dublin that I am convinced that P.T. Daly is a Government man and should not be let know anything of importance". Patridge died two months later, in July of that year, in Lewes Prison.
