Summary:Undated letters from poet and nationalist Alice Milligan to actress Máire Nic Shiubhlaigh, concerning her writing scripts for radio broadcast(to be read by Nic Shiubhlaigh) and her working on a poem about Elizabeth Yeats. She also writes of the retrictions in her social and political life, due to the illness of her sister-in-law and her family's opposition to her nationalism. Included are fragment letters from Milligan to Radio Éireann regarding the broadcasts, with Radio Éireann stamps, dated Jan. 1939 and Jan. 1940.


Included is a manuscript copy of one of Milligan's radio scripts titled 'Yeats, Martyn, Moore and the Irish Literary Drama, A Retrospect by Alice Milligan', transcribed in Nic Shiubhlaigh's hand.
