Summary:Sir Charles Napier died in Portsmouth in 1853 and was buried in the Royal Garrison Church. In 1855, a statue of him was raised in Trafalgar Square, London, in honour of his life and works. This correspondence, mainly to and from John Pitt Kennedy, concerns news of the death of Napier and comments on his memorial statue. Includes correspondence with the sculptor, George Adams.
