Notes: | Marianne Caroline Hamilton (1777-1861) was the second and youngest daughter of William Tighe, of Rosanna, Co. Wicklow and Sarah (née Fownes). A talent artist, she received instruction from the art master John Inigo Spilsbury of Harrow, England. In 1801 she married Charles Hamilton of Hamwood, near Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Herself an amateur poet and memoirist, Hamilton was a first cousin and sister-in-law of the poet Mary Tighe. Physical description: 1 volume more |
