| Summary: | Léon's letter attributing Lucia's cure to Joyce led to a scene, accusations made against him, he is writing to Jaloux to cancel their lunch engagement and instead they will go to Lausanne by themselves, encloses letter for Cerf, Faber and Reece, Joyce wants to know who is 'Pegasus' and why does he treat an eminent French art critic so badly, tell Gillet that Joyce is furious with the bungling, arrange to have a cheque sent to Gillet, Léon must send more money so he can pay hotel bills, he may change hotels if he has to stay on alone, he left the hotel after the scene and will stay out till the night, he is writing in the pump room, wonders if the water is a fake as he has not had a night without pain, he is going to fast in order to have a night's sleep, he has been walking and working, if Léon refuses to write to Miss Weaver Joyce will telegraph her, Léon should keep any money he needs for his own use, he sent Léon's boy a box of chocolates, wishes Léon would not oblige him to write so much and so often. |
