Folders (1) - (5) contain correspondence of Francis Mathew and Francis-James Mathew, 1st and 2nd Earls of Llandaff and their agents, and Denis Scully, acting mainly on behalf of his father James Scully, concerning business matters, in particular the sale of part of estate of the former to James Scully. Folder (6) contains a draft letter from Denys Scully to the Lord Lieutenant, Philip Yorke, 3rd Earl of Hardwicke, enclosing and endorsing his father, James Scully’s, proposal to raise a regiment in County Tipperary.
