A handwritten letter from John McGahern to John Montague discussing health matters; permission to use a quote; and publicity for his new novel ‘That They May Face The Rising Sun’, 3 October 2002. Also included in the file is a typescript essay by Alita Dusek entitled, “Malone Dies Again: A Textual Comparison of ‘Malone Dies’ and ‘The Barracks’”, undated. The essay has been annotated by Montague. Lastly, there are newspaper clippings concerning the career of McGahern which have been collected and annotated by Montague, 1976-2001.
