Michael O'Sullivan taught sculpture at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. His parents, Thomas and Jetta O'Sullivan, were great friends of Helen Hooker O'Malley's for many years. Helen collected works by Alice O'Sullivan, Michael's sister, a textile artist, in addition to several of Michael's sculptures. However, the sculpture (bottom right) in this photograph is by Helen Hooker O'Malley.
