Contains correspondence relating to the Dublin Citizens’ Committee campaign to re-establish the City Council in Dublin. Includes a copy of the Dublin Citizen’s Committee’s statement written by Niall Montgomery and forwarded to several politicians, including the Secretary of the Department of Local Government, Liam Cosgrave and Conor Cruise O’Brien. Montgomery issued an invitation in several newspapers and to politicians to attend a meeting regarding the issue in the Mansion House in on1 October 1972 and much of the letters and phone messages also relate to this meeting. Correspondents include Fred Mullen, Estelle Feldman, letters to the editors of the 'Sunday Independent', 'Sunday Press', 'The Irish Times', 'Independent' and 'Irish Press', Radio Teilifís Éireann, An Taisce, Sean Moore, Richie Ryan ,T.D., Rory O’Hanlon, Noel Lemass’ private secretary Úna Redmond, Michael Mullen of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union, John D. Mulcahy, Minster for Local Government, Mrs Máire Cruise O’Brien and Carmencita Hederman.
