Notes:The manuscript, which constitutes the first draft of 'Juno', is written in a school exercise book with ruled pages. Most of the pages have been crossed through with purple crayon. There is a white paper label pasted onto the front cover reading, in red ink, 'Juno and the Peacock' [sic]. The text is written tĂȘte-bĂȘche and there is a newspaper clipping, dated 8th May 1923, pinned to the inside front cover. There are also four separate bundles of numbered pages, comprising one typescript and three carbon typescripts of parts of Juno. All the items are housed in a custom-made green slipcase with the bookplates of two previous owners pasted on the inside.
