Account is an earlier version of that made to Bureau of Military History by Murphy, Barry, Canton and Wickham as officers of the Irish Volunteers, 1916 Association (Cork) in 1957. Brugha's letter, dated 8 April 1922, describes his appointment, along with Con Collins and Diarmuid Lynch, "to inquire into the action of Cork, Kerry and Limerick during Easter 1916".
