| Notes: | Leather bound album with iron clip, and bevelled edges, with watered silk covered endpapers. Incompletely filled, some cards removed. Cartes de visite with photographers' names on verso. Cartes de visite include several portraits of members of the British Royal family such as: Queen Victoria (Hill & Saunders, by appointment to H.M. the Queen, 1872); Edward, Prince of Wales (Arthur J. Melhuish, 1871); Alexandra, Princess of Wales (Arthur J. Melhuish, 1872); Prince Mary of Teck (1873). Other cartes de visite show portraits of members of the Gonne, March, and Southey family including portraits of Maud Gonne (Henry Knight, St. Leonards on Sea, 1873), her sister Kathleen Gonne, Charles Melville Gonne (cousin), Henry Gonne (cousin), Charles Gonne (grandfather of Maud Gonne). Loose photographs inserted into album show group portraits taken in India, a garden in England and two portrait photographs of Miss Emily March and Miss Laura March (cousins of Maud Gonne).
