Letters from Éamonn Duggan to his fiancée May Kavanagh concerning his Dáil career,
1919-1920.
Duggan's letters to his fiancée written between 1919 and 1920 relate to his attendance at Dáil Éireann (as a Sinn Féin T.D. for South Meath) and participation in ongoing Dáil business, while still maintaining his legal practice in Dublin. He refers in passing to preparing a report on Howth Fisheries and a 'Labour Dispute' (19 Aug. 1919), spending his days at the Dáil, while juggling his case load. In an undated letter, written from Reading, he writes of travelling to England to meet with Republican prisoners in Reading Jail, among them Joe MacDonagh.
