Duggan's undated letter, written during the 1918 General Election Campaign, refers to his campaign around the South Meath constituency, notably his attending Sinn Féin events in Laytown, Drogheda and Duleek, his being scheduled to attend four meetings the following day and his speaking at the forthcoming ‘County meeting’ in Navan. He tells her he would not be able to spend much time with her if she travelled down to see him. His letter is written on headed paper of the Central Hotel, Trim.

Notes:Duggan joined the Irish Volunteers on their foundation and fought at the North Dublin Union and later Fr. Mathew Hall during the Easter Rising. He was subsequently imprisoned in Mountjoy, Portland and Lewes prisons, was among those released in the summer of 1917 and successfully stood as a Sinn Féin candidate for South Meath in 1918.
