Lehane notes that Patrick J. Tobin in now living with him in London and he is out of work but Lehane is hopeful "that he'll soon have the pleasure of being exploited". Lehane refers to his previous job at the "Imperial" and "the buzz of the emery wheels and the scraping of saws cutting vulcanite blocks".
