Larkin writes "This quarrel must cease a truce must be carried out between both parties until I land [...] that no further publicity be given to the quarrel [...] that Daly return to his duty that is that he submit to the Executive orders without demur [...] Tom remember that you who are quarrelling fought together while those behind the scenes are awaiting what they hope is the disentegration of the Union".
