Letter from M. Devoy, 103 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin, to an unidentified recipient concerning James Connolly's health in prison and asking the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union to petition for his release,
1913 September 11.
Devoy writes "I don't think Dr. Stritch has seen him. The Head Warden informed me Connolly was in perfect health - after five days fast - this is what they said in Tullamore half-an-hour before they released Mrs. Hoskins at the point of death. I think you'll have to fight like the women to get him out".
