Devoy writes "I don't think Dr. Stritch has seen him. The Head Warden informed me Connolly was in perfect health - after five days fast - this is what they said in Tullamore half-an-hour before they released Mrs. Hoskins at the point of death. I think you'll have to fight like the women to get him out".
