Statement by [Bulmer Hobson] regarding Roger Casement's 'Black Diaries' with an explanation for their existence,

In this statement Bulmer Hobson suggests the diaries were transcripts made by Casement of a diary belonging to the natives in South America. This diary, according to Hobson, was sent to the English Foreign Office as evidence in an official investigation against the "recorded acts of sexual perversion", and in 1916, when English war propagandists sought to discredit Casement, they were falsely represented as Casement's own diaries.
