Incomplete letter from [Denis O'Sullivan], Ballingarry branch secretary, Irish Transport and General Workers' Union, to [William O'Brien] describing how the local parish priest denounced the red flag, emblem of the labour movement,

1921 September 12.

O'Sullivan writes how Rev. Hickey was angry that the red flag was hoisted in the town prior to the Archbishop of Cashel's visit, and that the Rev. claimed "the Archbishop would salute the Union Jack before the Red Flag".
