McCartan adds that any help that can be given to her would have a good outcome in their political circle in Ireland, especially the "Alexanders" who "don't expect kindness from our side of the house". Also mentions his sister Bridget, "old Goodwin", John Devoy and Francis Joseph Bigger, and his learning experiences with a side-car.
