Draft letter from Éamon De Valera to James O'Mara regarding O'Mara's letter of resignation as trustee of the American Association for the Recognition of the Irish Republic,
1920 March 4.
James O'Mara travelled to the United States with Éamon De Valera and was a trustee of the American Association for the Recognition of the Irish Republic, for which he successfully acted as a fundraiser. When De Valera proposed to ask for both a loan from the members of AARIR and impose a levy upon them, O'Mara resigned in protest and claimed De Valera's actions would reduce the donations given in the United States for the Irish cause.
