Copy of letter from William O'Brien to James Connolly informing him of the indefinite postponement of a Socialist Party of Ireland conference due to take place on the 1st of October, and about a Dublin Chamber of Commerce decision to form an organisation of Irish employers,
1911 September 28.
O'Brien writes that the conference was postponed because "the branches are sleeping soundly - if not actually dead". He refers to the proposed organisation as "a determination to down the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union at all costs". He finishes by referring to "the Wexford affair", which may be a reference to a labour dispute in that town (see MS 15,670/1-5).
