Notes:John Quinlan was one of five members of the Irish Republican Army who where shot and killed by the Black and Tans on 26th December 1920, during a raid on a dance organised by Cumann na mBan in aid of the East Limerick Brigade. The dance was held at Caherguillamore House, Bruff, Co. Limerick. Quinlan had returned to Limerick from the United States to take part in the independence movement.

Addressed from: "1630 Latimer St" [Philadelphia]. Envelope addressed to: "Mr. Joseph McGarrity, 5412 Springfield Ave, Pily [sic]".

Note by McGarrity reads: "From John Quinlan, killed in Ireland by the Black and Tans".
