Typescript letter from Liam Lynch to Joseph McGarrity regarding the IRA's need for artillery and as the pressure to end the civil war rises,
1923 February 5.
Mentions Seán Moylan, the "Jetter matter" and "the Deasy incident". On 18 January 1923 Liam Deasy was captured and sentenced to death by the Free State government; Deasy requested a stay of execution to appeal to his anti-Treaty comrades to end the war, which demoralised them. Liam Lynch also makes reference to the executions of republicans, and "the president" [Éamon De Valera]'s inflexible position.
